A 99-year-old war veteran is on the feminist path to becoming the female Tom Moore by walking 100 laps in her son's back garden.
Marjorie Lamb, from Scotland, who turns 100 on the 31st May, appeared on Good Morning Britain today, and vowed to get 'one up on the men' before her birthday.
The great-grandmother aims to the raise money for the supplies of PPE to carers amid the coronavirus pandemic, and has already surpassed her goal of £1,000 to raise a current figure of £6,610 - with 51 laps to go.
The former Wren 1st Officer, who was posted to Egpt with the Women's Royal Naval Service as a teenager in 1939, is currently isolating with her son John, 66, in Waterfoot and appeared on the ITV show this morning.

Speaking to Susanna Reid, she said: 'I thought Tom was tremendous but I thought I'd one up the men, I can walk better than him - I don't need a trolley as much!'.
Feisty Marjorie then quipped: 'My birthday is 31 May and I better start on the remaining 51 laps soon.'
And the war veteran believes COVID-19 isn't like the war, explaining: 'Coronavirus isn't like the war I was in, because it's a one off whearas the war was different every day'.
Replying to a viewer's question of how she managed to look so young, she added: 'The secret to looking young is your facial expression. I'm lucky that I have a family that doesn't give me a droopy face.

'I look alright when I first look in the mirror in the morning and put the necessary stuff on my face!'.
Marjorie's Just Giving campaign has already raised 660 per cent of her modest goal, and will continue until she has completed the 100 laps around her garden.
Her message reads: 'Marjorie would Like to raise money for the supplies of PPE to carers who are risking their lives daily in the fight against covid 19 . Thank you very much for all your donations we have upped the target now and shall keep going'.
Speaking to Susanna Reid, she said: 'I thought Tom was tremendous but I thought I'd one up the men, I can walk better than him - I don't need a trolley as much!'.
Marjorie has three grand-daughters Felicity, 35, Emily, 33, and Penny, 31 and great- grandsons Bernie, seven, and Monty, five, whom she originally planned to celebrate her birthday with.
Her son John previously told the Daily Record: 'She still feels everyone has to do something, you can't just sit around and let other people do it. It is also a good form of exercise for her while she is stuck at home.
'She has watched the news and witnessed herself that there is a real need for PPE for carers. I think she feels there is a real vulnerability in these places and the workforce are distressed because of a lack of protection.
'When the lockdown was announced the carers coming in didn't have any protective stuff. All it would need is for one of them to pick it up from somewhere and it would be absolute chaos so we thought she was better off here.'
