A man was arrested for allegedly breaking into a Pennsylvania funeral home Saturday night — then stripping naked and leaving a beer in a display casket, a report said.
The bizarre chain of events began when Ethan Palazzo, of New Jersey, busted into Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home in Old Forge at about 8 p.m., reported local newspaper The Citizens’ Voice, citing police.
Palazzo, who disrobed once he got inside, is suspected of sifting through the morgue’s chemicals, which were stored in a closet, the paper said.
It’s unclear how police were tipped off to the break-in, but when they arrived they discovered Palazzo, who reeked of booze, and a cold bottle of beer in a display casket.
Palazzo did not reveal to the authorities why he broke into the funeral home, but said he wanted to speak to his girlfriend, the report said.
He’s also suspected of breaking into a car outside the funeral home and leaving a can of Natural Ice beer in the center console.
Palazzo was charged with burglary, criminal trespass and criminal mischief, the paper said, citing a criminal complaint.
He was freed Wednesday after posting $40,000 bail.
