  • Countries around the world are struggling to contain the coronavirus pandemic
  • Though you may be self-isolating at home for now, there are plenty of ways, large and small, that you can help your community
  • From volunteering to sew PPE for our frontline workers to donating to your local food bank, here is a running list of all the ways you can help in the UK
The British Red Cross: For over 150 years, the British Red Cross has been one of the leading resources for crisis relief in the UK. The Red Cross is currently accepting applications to become a community reserve volunteer. No special skills are required and training is provided. You can also donate money to the British Red Cross here
The National Emergencies Trust: Founded in the wake of the Grenfell Tower fire and Manchester attacks in 2017, The National Emergencies Trust (NET) is a consortium of charities that works in partnership with the government to raise and distribute money in times of crisis. It's partnered with the Red Cross and the Duke of Cambridge to form a special coronavirus appeal. You can donate here or text APPEAL to 70141 to donate £10 to the NET.

Med Supply Drive UK: A non-profit developed specifically to address the need for personal protective equipment (PPE), Med Supply Drive is run by NHS doctors, nurses and members of the medical community to coordinate the acquisition and distribution of these life-saving supplies to frontline staff. You can donate supplies or, if you're handy with a sewing machine, you can sign up to volunteer your time to sew this life-saving gear here
