The Fall of the Titanic

RMS Titanic was a British passenger liner that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean on 15 April 1912 after hitting an iceberg during her maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York City. The pride of the White Star Line took more than two hours to sink. But it only took five minutes for the bow of the ship to sink to almost four kilometers to the ocean floor.
This graphics by National Post represents the best estimations science and history can currently make as to what happened in the moments immediately before and after the Titanic disappeared beneath the surface.
